Discussion Forums
Code of Conduct
Infoxchange Australia hosts a
range of moderated and un-moderated online discussion forums where members
have the rights and responsibilities associated with open discussion
and public exchange. The following rules and guidelines exist to ensure
the success of forums. The goal of the forums is to allow as many people
as possible the opportunity to participate in discussion of issues by
providing a fair and neutral space that most members will find of value
in the information exchange.
While contributors to forums
implicitly agree to share their intellectual property through the forums
and their respective archives, the writers retain all the copyright
privileges of their messages. This is to ensure appropriate credits
and promote full public access and awareness of the relevant forum.
It is the responsibility of the author of the original contribution
to bring violations to the attention of Infoxchange Australia's Site Administrator
at :
admin@infoxchange.net.au
Rules
- All contributions to
forums should include the sender's real name as all or part of the
author's signature.
- Private messages should
not be forwarded to forums without the permission of the author.
- No insults, threats,
inflamed language or personal argument are permitted.
- Contributions of a personal
or offensive nature will be removed from forums.
- Quotations of previous
posts may not exceed 5 lines, or the additional lines will be stripped
off automatically. Note that the web-based caucus system contains
all previous posts, so quoting is unnecessary
Guidelines
- Contributions must be
within the scope of the forums purposes. Members should not post excessively
on any one day. Excessive postings include more than 75 lines (normal
format) or more than 5 posts per day; more than that can strain e-mail
subscriber's mailboxes. Please be kind!
- Where users are posting
to un-moderated forums, the responsibility to understand what is within
the forum scope lies with the person posting the message.
- Complaints about a forum
member's behaviour should be directed to the Administrator at admin@infoxchange.net.au
These complaints should not be posted publicly to forums.
Removal
from the Forum
- A participant may be
removed by the Administrator for breaking forum rules.
- The Administrator is
not responsible for monitoring every post and will only review whether
a subscriber has broken the rules upon receiving a complaint to: admin@infoxchange.net.au
The WWW system contains all the postings and information needed to
review whetherthe rules have been broken.
